WAUKA

I was looking at dogs at the Redmond Oregon animal shelter, Brightside and I saw a cute little brown and white ferret by the front counter. I had never been around a ferret. My husband had ferrets so I knew he would like her. She was so tiny, only 1.5lbs. She was sweet, playful and sassy. I loved her ferret hop, little dooking sounds and watching her run around the house with toys. I taught her a couple tricks and she would come when called. She loved to steel the soles out of my husbands work boots and hide them in the furnichure. Her name started out as Meeka but the sounds she made reminded me of Fozzy Bear so she became Wauka. We loved her so much and she was our little princess as all of our other animals are male. We took Wauka on vacation with us and she loved when we drug blankets around the house. She would run and pounce on the blankets. We adopted another female white ferret as a companion for her and after three sassy days they became a bonded pair. Always getting into everything and figuring out how to escape their cage. We will miss Wauka’s sweet soul and little beady eyes looking up at us. We love you little Wauk!!!
A donation was made in WAUKA's memory and the memorial was created on December 12, 2016.
