Truffles

Truffles, the pygmy pit bull, was born sometime in early July 2012. Rescued from the streets of Bakersfield, California, she was found with her brother, both with their ears badly infected, the result of an at-home ear cropping job done with scissors. Truffles found her forever home with her humans Chris, Nickey and Hayden and her dog siblings Felix and Zoe. Shortly after moving from Los Angeles to Lincoln City, Oregon in June of 2016, she was diagnosed with lymphoma. She had her treatments performed at Oregon State University where she became a bit of a celebrity with her small stature and spunky personality. Three months after completing her chemotherapy protocol, it was confirmed her lymphoma had returned. She started chemotherapy again but this time she did not respond well. On May 20, 2017 after being diagnosed with pneumonia, Truffles suffered a stroke while in the care of her primary veterinarian. She was laid to rest with her mom by her side. Truffles a true ambassador to her breed. Fetch in Peace.

A donation was made in Truffles's memory and the memorial was created on May 30, 2017.
