Stubby

Stubby “Mr Stubbs” was born in 2002 in Beavercreek Oregon. He was one in a litter born to our barn cat, pet, and was very loved and cared for from the beginning. He became a very prolific hunter, and, as most cats, wanted to share his catches with us by leaving bits and pieces at our doorsteps. I rescued a few live birds and bunnies from their fate.
Stubby had no fear and stood his ground in most all circumstances, particularly when introduced to the family dogs.At first Boxers, then later two pit bulls, whom Stubby took great pride in teaching them who was boss ! Stubby wasn’t shy about giving some powerful swats across the noses when the dogs got too aggressive or loud, and in the end Mr Stubbs always got his way when it came to food dishes or comfy beds. But, he could also be very affectionate and loving by offering to groom ears and faces of the dogs, especially when he wanted to cuddle in their warm beds on cold nights.
I believe Stubby used up most of his nine lives, coming very close to death when he ate a poisoned rodent. He earned his treats and finally in the old age category got to be a house cat and favorite pet of the multitude of grandchildren who came to visit. We all miss you Stubbs, I’m glad you are resting in peace in the family yard. Love Mom
A donation was made in Stubby's memory and the memorial was created on February 10, 2017.
