Simba

After 19 years and 7 months, we said goodbye to my beautiful Simba, who was really our lion king. He was the most gentle and sweet cat I’ve ever had the pleasure to have as a companion. I found him as a lost kitten, and almost gave him up at an adoption event: I walked right back out of that and put him back in the car. He was with me for the duration at that point. He loved his fellow cats who lived with him for the rest of their lives, as he continued on. He was our daughter’s constant angel when she was born, and he was with her for her first 10 years. When he was already an elderly 17 years of age, he went with us to live overseas for awhile. He charmed fellow passengers on the flight, and he made friends where we settled before returning to Portland later on. More recently he welcomed a puppy into the house, and was as patient as he could be with such a high energy dog. They cuddled together in the sun often.

His loss leaves a big hole in our lives, and we could not miss him more. We’ll never forget Simba, and love him forever.

A donation was made in Simba's memory and the memorial was created on March 17, 2021.
