Neako

Being part of Neako’s life was such a blessing. He was 160 pounds of gentle sweetness but being a Central Asian shepherd, he was serious about protecting his family and property. I’ll never forget his dance when I asked him if he was hungry and he would touch his nose to his dish to show me what he wanted. He loved visiting the horses every day and I miss him at my side. He had the big dog lean perfected and he would use it to keep me close to him. He had a lot of names – Nitro, Beakie, Neako von Beako from Bigbeakistan, Big Rig, Handsome, and Bob (which was reserved for his bobbed tail). His torso was so long that he needed two names and we would make jokes about Bob and Neako, friends joined at the hip. He was picky about his human friends but if you were one of the lucky ones, he would make woo-woo noises and chatter his teeth when he saw you. He gave great hugs. We rescued each other in December 2011 and 6 years together was not enough. Rest In Peace my beloved boy.
A donation was made in Neako's memory and the memorial was created on February 16, 2018.
