Mia Smith

Mia was from a litter of seven puppies that our beloved yellow lab Chance delivered on November 10th, 2005. She was a very special dog like her mother Chance. Mia was very smart and very intuitive of her human parents. She loved to go to the barn and would take every step her dad would take whether he was walking, on the 4 wheeler or tractor – she never left his side. When she felt it was warm enough, she would go for a swim in the river. She also loved our backyard pool spending hours swimming and jumping off the diving board but as a lady, she always asked permission first- she would “talk” to us and sit by the steps of the pool until we told her she could go swimming. Her dad worked nights and her mom always felt safe with Mia in the house. She slept in her bed beside her mom. Mia was her mom’s alarm clock – at 7 o’clock she was ready to go outside, make her rounds of the backyard and then eat special breakfasts her mom made for her. No matter what she was doing, when she heard the sound of her dads truck she always came to greet him. She loved the grandkids and they loved her. We miss her terribly, she gave us so much joy, and she will always hold a very special place in our hearts.
A donation was made in Mia Smith's memory and the memorial was created on December 26, 2018.
