Maui

Maui (the brave) Lillie Ta’veren was born May 13, 2007 and left us November 6, 2021. We were lucky enough to have her and her twin sister Bella, who passed away October 23, 2018, from when they were 6 weeks old. Words will never adequately express what a priceless irreplaceable treasure your pet family member is. Maui’s wonderful veterinarian, Dr Proctor of South Valley Animal Hospital Milton Freewater, is so very understanding of this that he donated in Maui’s and her sister Bella’s names to the OSU Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine Pet Memorial Fund, supporting scholarships for OSU Veterinary students. There is no greater way to honor Maui than this, helping future pet family members.

Maui was stoic, brave, strong, courageous, intuitive, smart and so very loving. She was so very laid back, especially for a Westie, and yet had all the drive and intelligence of a terrier. Though she had multiple health diagnoses, including diabetes and lymphoma, we were so very blessed to have her 3 1/2 years past her 2 year max survival rate prognosis for a full 5 1/2 years. She always exceeded in every way above and beyond what we expected or hoped, not just in health, but in love, personality, intelligence, gentleness and sheer drive. Though she lived to nearly 14 1/2 years, as anyone who’s ever been privileged enough to have and be loved by a dog will know, no time would ever be long enough with them. It is their ONLY flaw! We will always remember, treasure, love and miss you, our precious Maui.

A donation was made in Maui's memory and the memorial was created on January 13, 2022.
