Keegan (“Kiki”)

I purchased Kiki after both my parents died within 3 months of each other. I had already rescued a cat who didn’t get along with other cats. When I brought Kiki home, I introduced them slowly. Kiki wouldn’t put up with my other cat’s bad behavior and after a while, they became the best of friends. I always loved red cats, and Kiki was a Somali breed with a deep red color. He was more like a dog than a cat – would fetch toys, wasn’t a lap kitty, never scratched or bit me, but just loved to play. He slept with me on my bed but was always mindful never to bother me until it was time for me to wake up. He would gently tap my head with his paw and nudge and push me with his head relentlessly until I got up. I had him for 17 years until he lost his life to kidney failure. I miss him dearly but cherish all the love he brought into my life.

A donation was made in Keegan (“Kiki”)'s memory and the memorial was created on March 3, 2023.
