Our sweet Josie, AKA Josetta, AKA Big Dog
Part shepherd,part angel, amazing athlete, best friend.

You never met a person that you didn’t like, or took a bath that you didn’t love.
We adopted you from the Portland shelter at 9 months old and you returned the favor with nearly 17 years of faithful loving kindness, patient companionship, safety and security for our family, help in the kitchen and daily lessons on how to be a truly wonderful person.
Many many motorhome trips and vacations were made more meaningful with you by our side.
Despite the infirmities of advancing old age you never lost your happy spirit, showed any sign of annoyance when the legs didn’t work as well as they once had, adapting with grace and resilience to all of life’s challenges. As long as you were with your “pack,” could sleep in on the weekends, chase your tail from time to time and still enjoy a 4pm carrot snack it was all that you required.
On that last day, as you passed quietly from us, you left us with broken hearts but such a rich and enduring gift of friendship and love that will last us a lifetime.
Thank you Josie. Forever loved, forever in our hearts. Never forgotten.
