Jenny

Our sweet girl graced our household on Valentine’s Day 2004 — exactly one year to the day after we lost my beloved mother. We figured mom sent her to us to fill our hearts. So small, so sweet, so funny, but so very smart. Smarter than us, she became our joke “puppy from hell.” We named her Jenny ’cause she was stubborn as a female mule. Never did anything bad, but so full of spunk it took us some time to adapt to her strong will. As we learned her ways, she mellowed and our bond was a thing of beauty. We lived in a townhouse near the ocean and she always carried a toy of some sort on her beach walks. It became her local ID — everyone knew Jenny, “the dog who carried toys”. In her 7th year we moved to Bend, Oregon and bought a house. Wow!! Jenny had a grass yard, dog parks, river walks, doggie heaven. Her next 8 years were a joy to her and to us. She went almost everywhere with us and never let us out of her sight at home. Anyone who has a Labrador knows the way they meld into your very being. Anyone who loves and cares for their fur baby, knows the joy of their companionship. The words grief and relief rhyme – grief for you at their loss, but relief that the toll of age is over for them and they will live in your heart forever. Jenny earned her wings on July 13, 2019.
A donation was made in Jenny's memory and the memorial was created on July 30, 2019.
