Howie

My sweet Howie was born on New Years Eve in 2002 in Nebraska. We found each other at a pet store in Idaho where he had been brought with his sister. While she ended up finding her forever home, he got left behind and as a result became a very sad pup. He wouldn’t play or even look at people.
When I first saw him, he was in an unmarked window in the back of the store. I stared at him for a while; his little backside was against the glass and I was trying to figure out what kind of puppy he was. Then something truly special happened, he turned around slowly scratch and when he saw me, we locked eyes. That was it, I knew I was his person.
I was blessed to have him as my best secret keeper snuggle partner and companion for 14 amazing years. We took trips, sang together and played a lot of soccer in the back yard. He was there for me when I got married, had my daughter and he was there when I lost my mom. He was my one of kind puppy soul mate. Even after being blind for the last 5 years of his life, he was still my best boy and never let it affect his quality of life.
For me there is no replacement and I will miss him until the end.
I love you super friend and I will never forget you!

A donation was made in Howie's memory and the memorial was created on August 9, 2017.
