Heidi

After several years of researching and meeting breeders of Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs, Heidi joined our family on Mother’s day in 2006. It was the perfect day really since she was like another child/sibling to us. She was such a Love and a wonderful dog from day one. Though she was a bit mischievous and loved to chew (destroy) bones and toys, she never chewed shoes or any other household item except for an occasional roll of TP or paper towels. In fact she never even had an ‘accident’ in the house or car, and we were able to train her to go potty on a ‘WC’ command. Heidi especially loved to open gifts that she received on her birthday and Christmas, go for car rides, and go on adventures with her family whether hiking in the mountains or running on the beach. Most of all however, she just loved to be with her family. She was the best snuggler and could always put a smile on your face. Heidi was also very smart and started obedience training as a puppy. She then went on to join a dog 4H club with her human sister where she eventually earned Grand Champion in obedience, and also entered the AKC show ring earning multiple Best of Breed ribbons. Our beautiful Heidi brought us so much joy, and we only wish we could have had her with us for a bit longer. We’ll love and miss her always.
