Halsey

Halsey was such a good boy. As a Labrador Retriever the quote “Always hopeful and never underfed” absolutely described Halsey. 🙂 He was always always always up for an adventure or a good game of fetch, and a tennis ball or stick were his constant companions. He was our constant companion whether it was in the backyard, our kitchen, watching TV / movies, hiking or jumping up on our bed to wish us a good night. We took him everywhere and spent many a muddy day on the Wildwood Trail in Portland’s Forest Park. He also had his own shadow dog life and doggie-friends at Run Day Camp for Dogs, where he went once a week to run and play with lots of other dogs out in Vernonia. Lots of epic photos of him coated in mud with an enormous log / branch in his mouth. Labrador Heaven.

So many wonderful memories and experiences. We were lucky to have him with us for over 10 years and he was a big part of our kids experience growing up. He was very special to us and we lost him suddenly and unexpectedly. The photo attached is one of my favorites and captures his spirit well – a good and sandy and exhausting day of fetch at Rockaway Beach.

He had a great life – he was our best boy and we are so lucky to have had him in our lives.

Halsey – we miss you every day.
