Gracie

It was love at first sight. We entered the pound and asked to meet Gracie. There she stood at the back of the kennel. While another dog barked maniacally at us at the gate, Gracie watched and waited for her name to be called. We prompted for her to come forward and she curiously arrived at the gate, shoved the other dog out of her way and said hello to us. We took her for a walk and she was clear that she wanted out of the place so we took her home. She was one year old at the time. My kids were 1 and 2 and were all over her with love. Gracie took care of everybody. She jumped into bed for story time (under the covers), kissed the kids goodnight, chased the coyotes away and protected our hens, took the neighbors dog for a walk every morning, was a mom and big sister to our new puppy some years back, picked the kids up from school, went to church dressed as the “Dog Days of Summer” dog, loved her beach vacations. They were her special vacations. She was loved by everyone who came to the house. She was kind to all the dogs who came to stay while their folks were out of town. She was graceful, sweet, kind and loving. We love her and miss her so much and still call her name. We will see you again one day our lovely Gracie for lots more loving, pets and hugs and kisses.
A donation was made in Gracie's memory and the memorial was created on August 28, 2017.
