Anchovy

Miss Anchovy was a hugely loving kitty in a tiny package. She found me while I was on a walk on a rainy day in December. Anchovy came toddling up to me yelling and followed me for a couple blocks. I scooped her up and took her home, thinking she was a kitten because of her small size. My husband and I took her to the vet, where we found out she wasn’t chipped and was actually an older lady with numerous health problems. We knew from the beginning our time with her would be limited, but hoped for the best. For the first few weeks she had to be quarantined from our other kitties, so she stayed in our garage in a heated carrier where my husband added digital thermometers and cameras so we could monitor the temperature and watch her from the house.
When we were able to bring her inside she acclimated well, with our three orange kitties welcoming her, and one happily sharing his treats. Anchovy greeted us each morning with her happy yells, excited for her breakfast. She loved her heating pad, pets, Churu treats, and lap time. After a few weeks of improvement she took a downturn one evening, and never fully recovered; we had to let her go. Anchovy is forever in our hearts as she brought us so much joy and we hope we were able to make her last few months comfortable and happy. We are also appreciative to Grateful Heart Veterinary Hospital in Portland who gave her the best care possible and contributed to her memorial.
A donation was made in Anchovy's memory and the memorial was created on March 19, 2023.
